Heute war großer Tag der Abreise. Es heißt wieder mal Abschied von Denver, Colorado und der Colorado Avalanche zu nehmen. Doch da der Flug erst am späten Nachmittag ging, nutzten wir die Zeit vormittags noch dazu, einen Führung durch das Sports Authority Field zu machen, das Heimstadion der Denver Broncos. Der Andrang auf die Tour war jedenfalls groß, größer als jemals zu vor. Vermutlich deswegen, da die Broncos ja erst kürzlich den Super Bowl gewinnen konnten. Mit den letzten Impressionen aus dem Stadion des Super Bowl Gewinners ging es dann ans packen und ab auf den Flughafen. Insofern heißt es Aufwiedersehen zu sehen, Aufwiedersehen Invasion VIII.

Very special Invasion is done. Eurolanche Invasion VIII was probably the best Invasion in the history of the Eurolanche. We watched two valuable outdoor games, made visits to Las Vegas and other places where had not been before and it is not likely we will be come back there anytime soon. We met new people, friends, who helped us for nothing. We experienced unforgettable moments and fun like never before. I can't forget on the interview with Jeremy Roenick for NBC Sports.

We had also hard moments and it is not easy to talk about them. There is still not right time. Only thanks the Eurolanche brand and its reputation we could go through and move on.

We will look back on what we experienced in the USA in the next days, weeks and months at Eurolanche.com. We will work on final recaps, reports, photo galleries... You will be able to find them on different websites, magazines and other media.

We believe we will do everything to make the Eurolanche Invasion IX even better in many thins the Invasion VIII failed - but it was not our mistake. We will do anything to stay still the most unique Fan Club of the NHL team.

Skončila sa špeciálna Invasion, Eurolanche Invasion VIII, asi najlepšia v histórii fanklubu Eurolanche. Videli sme dva historické a nesmierne cenné zápasy pod holým nebom. Navštívili sme Las Vegas a také miesta v Colorade, kde sme za celé minulé roky nikdy neboli a asi sa tam tak skoro nevrátime. Spoznali sme nových priateľov, dostali od nich nezištnú pomoc a zažili aj kopec srandy, zábavy a v prvom rade nezabudnuteľe zážitky. Samostatnou kapitolou bol rozhovor pre NBC Sports, ktorý spravil Jeremy Roenick.

Zažili sme aj ťažšie chvíle, o ktorých nie je ľahké rozprávať a nenastal na ne ešte ten správny čas. Len vďaka sile Eurolanche a mene, ktorú si fanklub vybudoval, sme sa cez ne dokázali spoločne dostať.

V najbližších dňoch, týždňoch a mesiacoch sa vrátime ku všetkému, čo sme v USA zažili. Pripravíme si pre vás závereče sumáre, reportáže, fotogalérie... Nebudú určite chýbať aj články na rôznych weboch, v časopisoch.

Veríme, že sme spravili všetko preto, aby Eurolanche Invasion IX bola minimálne taká dobrá ako Invasion VIII a v ďalších veciach, ktoré nevyšli, ju prekonala. Spravíme pre to všetko, aby sme boli naďalej najunikátnejším fanklubom tímu v celej NHL.

Heute hieß es bereits um 07:00 Uhr aufstehen, denn es ging um 07:45 Uhr mit dem Auto nach Breckenridge, wo wir eine Skimobil-Ausfahrt in der Gruppe gebucht haben. Mit etwas Müdigkeit kam man um 09:30 Uhr in Breckenridge an, und als man erstmals den Rennoverall angezogen hat, war die Müdigkeit schnell verflogen. Nach einer kurzen Einschulung an der Maschine ging es dann zu einigen Aufwärm-Runden, um ein bisschen ein Gefühl für das Gerät zu bekommen. Danach ging es dann auf die 90-minütige geführte Ausfahrt in der Natur, die wahnsinnig viel Spaß gemacht hat. Zu Mittag hieß es dann Mittagessen in einer leckeren Pizzeria und danach ging es wieder zurück nach Denver. Abends stand dann das letzte Spiel der Invasion gegen die Anaheim Ducks am Programm. Vor dem Spiel haben wir dann noch Jake Schroeder getroffen und kurz mit ihm geplaudert. Das Spiel gegen die Ducks war jedenfalls ein sehr gutes und die Avs haben eine starke Leistung aufs Eis gebracht. So konnte man auch das Spiel 3-0 gewinnen und uns Fans mit einem positiven Erlebnis auf die Heimreise nach Europa schicken. Nach dem Spiel gab es dann noch das obligatorische Treffen mit den Spielern und danach noch den Ausklang mit Whiskey am Zimmer, bevor es morgen dann endgültig Koffer packen und der Heimflug angesagt ist.

Invasion VIII is specific in many ways. In total, 12 members traveled to Denver. Each person has his own expectations, ideas and plans. I think we have been able to meet everyone's expectations. We were able to split in smaller groups many times as sometimes not everyone wanted to do what others. We were united mainly by the hockey activities of course.

Invasion VIII is great proof we can work even with a large group. Of course, not everything was on 100 percent as it was the first time such a large group joined the Invasion project. We know many things will be better next time. The Eurolanche staff will work on improvements in the Invasion rules and prepare a conduct of the Invasion member. Invasion VIII crew was friendly and relaxed. We experienced many unforgettable moments and one of them is ahead of us - snowmobiling. Then our last game followed. Final goodbyes to our US friends, packing dozens of souvenir and departure to Europe. I think two weeks were enough, but of course there could be more games.

Invasion VIII je špecifická v mnohých smeroch. V Denveri sa stretlo až 12 členov fanklubu Eurolanche. Čo človek, to iné očakávania, plány. Napriek tomu, že sme mali k dispozícii jedo auto, myslím si, že sa nám podarilo vyhovieť každému. Často sme boli schopní sa rozdeliť na niekoľko skupiniek, keďže nie vždy chcel robiť všetko každý. Spájali nás predovšetkým hlavné aktivity - tie hokejové.

Invasion VIII bude vždy dôkazom toho, že sa dá pracovať aj s väčšou skupinkou ľudí. Samozrejme, že nič nebolo dokonalé, keďže nás tak veľa bolo po prvýkrát. Na mnohých veciach sme sa poučili a už teraz vieme, že nabudúc to bude určite lepšie. Vedenie fanklubu Eurolanche pripraví pred Invasion IX nové pravidlá a kódex účastníkov Invasion, aby sa ich zážitok z výletu ešte viac vylepšil.

Partia Invasion VIII bola pohodová a priateľská. Zažili sme spolu niekoľko nezabudnuteľných zážitkov. Jeden z nich máme ešte len pred sebou - výlet na snežných skútroch. Nasleduje posledný zápas, lúčenia s našimi americkými priateľmi, balenie nekonečného počtu suvenírov a odlet domov. Myslím si, že dva týždne sú na Invasion dostačujúce, aj keď zápasov by nikdy nebolo dosť.

Heute stand am Vormittag wieder mal das Training im Family Sports Center in Centennial, einem Bezirk im südlichen Denver, am Programm. Nachdem man leider etwas zu spät kam, gab es dann aber ein interessantes Training zu beobachten und nach dem Training hat man auch einige Spieler der Avs getroffen und Unterschriften und Fotos eingheimst. Es war einer der bestehn und erfolgreichsten Tage, was das Ergattern von Unterschriften und Fotos anbelangt. Nach dem Training und den Spieler-Treffen ging es dann weiter in das South Suburban Familiy Center, wo wir die beiden ehemaligen Avs Spieler Milan Hejduk und Jan Hejda getroffen haben. Die beiden Ex-Spieler haben sich ca. 45 Minuten wie auch die letzten Jahre auch Zeit genommen, um mit uns zu plaudern und uns auch einige Fragen zu beantworten. Die Antworten waren dabei immer sehr ehrlich und offen. Spätnachmittags wurde dann auch nochmal das Red Rocks Theater sowie die 16. Straße fürs Shppen besucht, womit dann bei einem Abendessen in der Innenstadt auch der Tag beschlossen wurde.

Nachdem es seit der Ankunft in den USA eigentlich nun 12 Tage durchwegs Sonne und nur ab und zu Wolken gab, hieß es am heutigen erstmals Regen. Der Regen hat allerdings nicht allzu lange gedauert, gerade einmal von 11 Uhr bis 14 Uhr, danach wurde es wieder freundlicher und sonnig. Dem Regen trotzend ging es jedenfalls vormittags ins Pepsi Center, um die offizielle Pepsi Center Führung zu machen, die einige Teilnehmer der diesjährigen Invasion noch nicht kannten. Nach der Tour ging es dann Shoppen und Sightseeing in die Innenstadt, der 16th Street Mall. Nach Besichtigung der Sehenswürdigkeiten (Kapitol, Rathaus) wurde auch wieder mal fleißig geshoppt. Abends stand dann das Spiel der Avs gegen die Coyotes am Programm, dass die Avs zum Glück mit 3-1 gewinnen konnten. Insofern steht es nun 3-2-0 in dieser diesjährigen Invasion, wobei noch ein Spiel ausständig ist. Nach dem Spiel ging es dann noch auf einen Mitternachts-Snack ins Denver Dinver und dann ab ins Bett.

Where we live in Denver and what kind of an accommodation we use? We have had many experiences over the last years as we organized 8 trips in total. In general, it does not mean a lot to us because we just sleep there and spend most of days on the trips and games. This year, we live really close to Denver Downtown and Pepsi Center. We came back to the same hotel for the second time that is a first time in the Invasion history. The price includes breakfast, gym, free shuttle to Downtown, clean rooms and restaurant. We have got a little better price for our coming back over here but still anyway we will try to push it lower for the next time if we would be back again.

Choice of our accomodation depends on a mutual agreement of all trips members. But we can't agree with requests on luxury type of hotels on one side or for the hostels on other side. Middle-solution is always the best.

There are thousands of options for staying in USA. Hotels and motels are literally everywhere. Thanks our previous experiences and advices from our US friends we know what a hotel brand is worth to be considered and what not.

We live 4 in one room with two queen beds. Nobody has even a problem with that even when our members represent different countries and cultures.

Kde v Denveri bývame a ako to je s ubytovaním? Za osem Invasion máme veľmi veľa skúseností. Od lepších po horšie zariadenia. V zásade to však bolo vždy veľmi jedno, keďže na hoteli iba spíme a väčšinu dní sme v teréne. Aktuálne sme blízko samotného centra Denveru iba 7 minút jazdy od Pepsi Center. Na tento hotel sme sa vrátili po druhýkrát v histórii Invasion, čo sa stalo po prvý raz a sme spokojný, V cene sú každý deň bohaté raňajky, zadarmo odvoz do centra, priestranné a čisté izby, posilňovňa a reštaurácia. Ako členovia Eurolanche sme dostali výhodnejšiu cenu tento rok, no pre ďalšie Invasion sa budeme snažiť stlačiť ceny ešte viac na dol, ak sa sem teda vrátime po ďalší krát.

Ubytovanie je vecou vždy vzájomnej dohody. Nemôžeme však vyhnúť tým, ktorí majú prehnane luxusné nároky a ani tým, ktorí by najradšej spali v nocľahárni s cudzími ľudmi. Ako sa hovorí, zlatá stredná cesta ja najlepším riešením.

Ubytovacie možnosti v USA sú široké, keďže na každom kroku narazíte na hotel alebo motel. Na základe naśich skúseností a taktiež rád od našich známych vieme dopredu predpokladať, ktoré miesto sa oplatí pozrieť a ktoré nie. Pochybné motely s 20 izbami určite nie sú riešením.

Na izbách bývame pri takomto veľkom počte účastníkov po 4 na 2 manželkých posteliach. Ešte s tým nikto nemal problém a to reprezentujeme viacero európskych krajín a teda kultúr.

Heute stand ein Ganztagesausflug in den Norden Colorados am Programm. Genauer gesagt wurden der Rocky Mountain National Park und das Wildlife Resort besucht. Der Tag stand also ganz im Zeichen der Natur Colorados. Zuerst ging es in den Wildlife Resort, wo es die einzigartige Möglichkeit gibt, Bisons in der Natur auf freier Wildbahn zu beobachten. So haben wir es auch geschafft, ein paar Bisons zu sehen, einige davon waren auch nur ca. 100 Meter von uns entfernt. Dabei galt jedoch das strikte Gebot, nicht aus dem Auto auszusteigen. Neben Bisons konnten auch noch einige Adler und sonstige Waldtiere beobachtet werden. Danach ging es dann noch weiter Richtung Nordern zum Nationalpark, wo die Natur der Rocky Mountains im Mittelpunkt stand. Neben der Flora stand dabei auch vor allem die Besichtigung der zahlreichen Bergsehen am Programm, wo es bei eigentlich 20 Grad in Denver Stadt noch immer genug Schnee gab.

Im Mittelpunkt des Samstages stand zweifelsohne das Nachmittags-Spiel gegen die Nashville Predators. Spielstart war dieses mal bereits um 13:00 Uhr nachmittags und es war auch zugleich ein besonderes Spiel. So haben die Avs an diesem Tag ihre Military Appreciation Day Festivitäten begangen, weshalb auch recht viel Militärpräsenz gegeben war bzw. die Spieler auch in Militärtrikots aufgewärmt haben. Das Spiel selbst war jedenfalls ein sehr attraktives, es ging wahnsinnig schnell hin und her und es wurde auch sehr hart gespielt. Man sah viele Checks und es gab auch zwei Schlägereien, die ersten der diesjährigen Invasion. Doch bei all dieser Attraktivität bleibt dann doch ein schaler Beigeschmack. So haben es die Avs im letzten Drittel leider vergeigt und das Spiel mit 5-2 verloren. Nach einem kurzen Zwischenstopp im Hotel ging es abends jedenfalls nochmals ins Pepsi Center, da am Abend ein Lacrosse Spiel der Colorado Mammoth am Programm stand. Danach ging es noch in die Stadt um den Tag ausklingen zu lassen.

Some of our group very like an atmosphere on the lacrosse game of Colorado Mammoth. For those who have not seen any game of this sport yet, I am going to describe it little more. A music is being played during whole game and a game announcer supports the crow in their cheering. There are showing "instructions" on a jumbotron what fans should do. Teams usually scored many goals, their players are willing to do anything for win (sometimes we could see really hard hits). The pre-game show with motorcycles and nice cheerleaders is a great part of each game. Yes, it is louder than at the NHL game, but we have to realize the NHL has so strict rules that for example forbids any loud activity during the game. Lacrosse is about fun, NHL is more serious - because you play for the most honored trophy in the sport there.

I wrote we enjoyed cakes in one restaurant near by our hotel in a diary of the Invasion. Let's write about US cuisine and restaurants. USA offer unlimited choices and options for eat. The cheapest offers come from standard fast foods that is under 10 dollars. Up to 15 dollars are most of the prices in restaurants for classic menu. Generally, you can eat almost anything up to 20 dollars. The food has a higher quality than back in some European restaurants, mainly in Slovakia for example. Also an overall service is completely different. You have to be seated at every restaurant and your waitress is available to full fill and of your wish. There higher tips in Europe and sometimes they charged it already in a receipt.

Mnohým z našej výpravy sa páčila atmosféra lakrosového zápasu Colorada Mammoth. Pre tých, ktorí si nikdy tento šport v USA nepozreli, opíšem atmosféru aspoň v krátkosti. Počas celého zápasu hrá hudba a moderátor nabáda fanúšikov fandiť. Na obvorskej kocke sa neustále zobrazujú "pokyny", čo majú fanúšikovia robiť. Pridajte si do toho veľa gólov, ktoré tomto športe padajú a taktiež miestami tvrdosť na hrane, keď sa súperi neváhajú zraziť v plnej rýchlosti o mantinel. Ešte a zápas nezačne a fanúšik hneď spozornie, keď sa začína predzápasoá šou. Nechýbajú motorky, pyrotechnika, pekné rozstieskavačky. Atmosféra je teda určite iná ako počas zápasu NHL a aj hlasitosť o dosť vyššia. Lenže si treba na druhej strane uvedomiť, že NHL má striktné pravidlá, ktoré zakazujú mnoho vecí. A nakoniec kvôli tomu, že počas zápasu nesmie byť žiadna šou sa len málo fanúšikov nechá strhnúť. Lakros je však hlavne o šou a zábave, NHL o najcennejšej športovej trofeji.

V denníku som k sobotňajšiemu dňu napísal, že sme si pochutili na výborných koláčoch v blízkosti hotela. Pozrime sa teda dnes na stravovanie v Denveri a zajtra na tomto mieste si napíšemie niečo o hoteli. Stravovanie ponúka v USA nekonečný rad možností. Treba však rátať so stále stúpajúcimi cenami. Najlacnejšie sa dá najesť v klasikých fast foodových reťazcoch, kde sa ceny pohybujú do 10 dolárov za štandardné menu. Do 15 dolárov sa najete vo väčšine reštaurácií, ale aj to iba niečo základné. Väčšina cien sa pohybuje do 20 dolárov. Treba však uznať, že jedlo tu má úplne inú kvalitu ako v reštauráciách, kde sa napríklad na Slovensku najete za jeden gastrolístok. Taktiež servis je úplne iný. Prídete do reštaurácie, musíte počkať, kým vás personal usadí na špecifické miesto a po celý čas vás bude doslova obskakovať. S tým súvisí aj výška sprepitného. Malo by byť aspoň 20 percent. Ale pozor, sú aj miesta, kde si sprepitné náučtujú vopred bez debaty.

Am gestrigen Tag stand der Besuch des Trainigs der Avs in Centennial am Programm. Von 11 bis 12 Uhr standen die Spieler am Eis und danach gab es das erste Treffen mit den Spielern nach dem Training. Es wurden wieder mal fleißig Autogramme und Fotos eingeheimst. Danach ging es dann zum Mittagessen in ein altbekanntes Restaurant und dann abends stand der Besuch eines Basketball-Spiels am Programm, wobei dieses nur ein Teil der Gruppe besucht hat. Die Nuggets haben gegen die Nets ganz knapp in Verlängerung verloren, das Spiel war bis zum Ende hin sehr spannend.

Last days was little bit calmer than past days we spent by never ending traveling and driving. We have till many thing to do including special meetings. Sadly, it is not possible to make them all on time so we will have a discussion what to do and what will have to be moved to the next Invasion. It just a proof how many unlimited options Colorado offer to us even after eight trips. You will never be bored with the Eurolanche here. You would be happy for every single rest!

I would come back to the meetings with the players. We can meet them for two time after the games and as our group consist of 12 members, we have to be split in two 6-man groups. Then we made a decision to wait on the players after some practices together with other fans. The firs chance was on Friday. The players were coming of the practice facility in their cars. In spite of that, many of them stopped, gave us many autographs and took photos too. Cody McLeod was extra friendly as he gave his signature to everybody and even took a group photo with us and our mini van. Boris from Germany was the happiest person because he is a huge fan of Cody and has many of his game worn jerseys. Other players remembered on the Eurolanche too, like for example Barrie, Holden, Iginla. All players we met got the Eurolanche flyer from us where they could read short info about the Fan Club and the Invasion VIII. For example, Soderberg was very interested.

The game against Nashville is scheduled on Saturday and then some more shopping in Denver Downtown. We have been there only few times this year that is kind of paradox as we live nearby. Be sure to read the Stadium Series report at this website too.

Včerajšok bol trochu viac oddychový potom, čo sme uplynulé dni strávili nekonečným cestovaním. Stále máme na pláne veľké množstvo aktivít a stretnutí. Je nemožné ich všetky stihnúť. Preto musíme o programe pre ďalšie dni hlasovať a dohodnúť sa, čo áno a čo nie. Zostane teda nakoniec niekoľko nedokončených aktivít, ktoré však presunieme na ďalšie Invasion. Je to najlepší dôkaz toho, že Colorado ponúka široký rad možností aj po ôsmej Invasion. S Eurolanche sa tu jednoducho nikdy nebudete nudiť. Naopak, budete radi za každý deň oddychu na viac.

Vrátim sa k stretnutiam s hráčmi. Tento rok môžeme hráčov stretnúť po dvoch zápasoch a keďže je nás 12, museli sme sa rozdeliť na dve 6 členné skupinky. Preto sme sa rozhodli, že si na hráčov počkáme aj po niektorých tréningoch. V piatok bola prvá možnosť. Hráči vychádzali na autách a drvivá väčšina nám dala podpisy, dokonca sa s nami aj pofotila. Nevadilo im, že s nami na nich čakali ďalší fanúšikovia. Najviac ochotný bol Cody McLeod. Skláňam sa pred ním, keďže bol s nami dobrých 10 minút. Svoj podpis dal každému, rovnako ako sa aj odfotil. Najväčšiu radosť mal z neho náš člen Boris z Nemecka, ktorý je jeho veľký fanúšik a má jeho veľa autentických dresov zo zápasov. Cody napokon dokonca s nami zapózoval pred našim mini vanom. Na Eurolanche si spomenuli hráči ako napríklad Barrie, Holden, Iginla. Všetci bez rozdielu dostali naše informačné letáky, kde je info o fanklube a výlete. Taký Soderberg sa o fanklub zaujímal najviac.

V sobotu nás čaká zápas proti Nashvillu a trochu sa asi aj dostaneme do centra Denveru, kde sme paradoxne boli doteraz minimálne. Ešte by sme vás chceli upozorniť na report zo zápasu pod holým nebom, ktorý me publikovali na tejto stránke.

Thursday was about a visit to the game and shopping. I would like to write more about two points that didn't appear in the Invasion diary. First one is a Czech restaurant in Denver called Sobo 151. It is owned by a Czech man Filip Tomas who lives in Denver for long time and employs other Czechs and Slovaks there. We used to visit this place last Invasions and will continue in the next years as well. It is very nice place with friendly employees. All of them have behaved to the Eurolanche very nice over the years. For example, Filip donated us with a free game tickets for some Avs games this year. Unfortunately, we have to count with a help of private persons speaking about the tickets, not only the big organization. But the Eurolanche brand has its own name here and many things go easier. The next topic I would like to underline are tickets for the firs row. We have no problem to get there anybody - only thanks to the Eurolanche.

Many fans who have never been in Denver probably don't realize how hard is to organize the Invasion and what's name and value has the Eurolanche brand here. It would worth another story, but in a short the Eurolanche brings to its members incomparable experiences and moments. Just come and see it in person. And we are still working on improvements.

Štvrtok bol teda o zápase a nakupovaní. Rád by som sa však pristavil pri dvoch veciach, ktoré sa do klasického denníka Invasion nezmestili. Prvé je reštaurácia Sobo 151. Vlastní ju Čech Filip Tomas, ktorý žije dlhé roky v Denveri a zametnáva v nej svojich krajanov, samozrejme vrátane Slovákov. Zvykli sme chodiť na toto miesto posledné roky a určite v tom budeme pokračovať. Okrem toho, že je to veľmi príjemné miesto plmné hokejových suvenírov, tak aj personál na čele s majiteľom sa správa k Eurolanche vždy priateľsky. Konkrétnym dôkazom je aj to, že nám Filip dal niekoľko lístkov zadarmo na niektoré zápasy. Bohužiaľ, v Denveri sa musíme spoliehať aj na súkromné osoby, nielen na tých, od ktorých by sme to najviac čakali. Meno Eurolanche má však už svoju hodnotu a tak ide mnoho veci ľahšie. Dôkazom je aj druhá vec, o ktorej by som chcel hovoriť a to sú lístky do prvého radu. Nemáme problém tam dostať kohokoľvek a znovu - len vďaka Eurolanche.

Mnoho ľudí, ktorí neboli nikdy v Denveri, si možno neuvedomuje, aké náročné je všetko organizovať, a hlavne, aké meno tu má Eurolanche. Bolo by to na ďalší článok, no v krátkosti, Eurolanche prináša svojim členom a účastníkom výletov Invasion neporovnateľné možnosti a zážitky. Stačí prísť a presvedčiť sa o nich. Pritom stále pracujeme ďalej a chceme byť len a len lepší.

Heute stand am Vormittag wieder mal der Besuch des Fanshops im Pepsi Center am Programm. Dort war das übliche Shopping angesagt, und während dem Shopping ist was sehr unerwartetes passiert: plötzlich ist der Coach Patrick Roy im Shop mit seiner Familie erschienen. Die Gelegenheit beim Schopf gepackt, wurden natürlich sofort Fotos geschossen und Unterschriften eingeholt. Danach ging es dann zu Stranachans, eine lokale Whiskey Distillerie in Denver, wo wir eine geführte Tour gemacht haben, wie Whiskey in Denver hergestellt wird. Mit einer Flasche Whiskey als Souvenier ging es dann weiter zum Mittag Essen ins tschechische Pub Sobo 151 und dann zurück ins Pepsi Center für das Match gegen die Florida Panthers, das die Avs mit 3-2 gewinnen konnten. Es war der zweite Sieg im dritten Spiel der diesjährigen Invasion.

We saw and experienced so many moments and still it is only a first half of the Invasion VIII. One of the biggest surprises was a real life I'm US desert. When you compare it to the US movies or video games, it is almost the same. Roads, weird communities and desert... Like from a horror movie. It was kind a surprise there was no highways from Las Vegas to Denver, at any point. Only mountain roads. Very dangerous. Glad we had a nice weather otherwise it would take couple of days to get back. Drive to and from Vegas took 14 hours, but a way back was split in two days.

We spent many hours in our van but everyone is satisfied what could see over last couple of days. Main highlight of our short trip was Grand Canyon of course. There are no barriers or fence, but we still could survive and took amazing shots. It is a pity we didn't have more time for activities around. For many places in USA, you would need at least one week to enjoy them on 100 %. But our priority is nothing but Denver and we are there back now.

Today is Thursday. One week and we are flying back to Europe. There are scheduled four more Avalanche games, post-game meetings with the players, shopping, trips in and outside Denver... A lot. Last Invasions, there were some off days, but now it seems there will not be any hour for break.

Videli a zažili sme toho neskutočne veľa a to sme pritom v približne polovici Invasion VIII. Z posledných dní nás najviac prekvapilo to, ako sa rôzne filmy podobajú na skutočnosť v USA. Už len cesty, cez ktoré sme prechádzali... Naozaj ako z hororu. Pokazí sa vám to a dopadnete ako v Hory majú oči. Zarazilo nás, že cestou do Denveru sme nešli takmer vôbec po diaľnici. Samé horské cesty, serpentíny. Chvalabohu nesnežilo, pretože by nám to trvalo aj dva dni. Takto sme do Las Vegas prišli s prestávkami za 14 hodín a naspäť možno za rovnaký čas, ktorý sme si však rozdelili do dvoch dní.

Aj keď sme strávili veľa hodín v 12-miestnom mini buse, každý je nadšený z toho, čo všetko videl. Hlavným ťahákom bol určite Grand Canyon. Nie sú tam žiadne zábrany, takže stačí malá nepozornosť, šmyknete sa a spadnete do niekoľko desiatok metrov hlbokej priepasti. Škoda však, že sme nemali viac času na aktivity v jeho okolí. V USA je toľko miest, že by vám na ich užitie nestačil ani týždeň. Viď Las Vegas, kde sme boli dva dni. Lenže naša priorita je v Denveri...

Práve sa nám začal štvrtok. Takto o týždeň letíme domov. Dovtedy musíme stihnúť ešte štyri zápasy Colorada, stretnutia s hráčmi. výlety v okolí Denveru, nákupy suvenírov... Je toho naozaj dosť. Po minulé roky vždy vyšiel jeden voľnejší deň počas Invasion, ktorý každý uvítali. Tento rok to však vyzerá, že na 100 % pôjdeme furt a oddych sa začne až nástupom do lietadla.

Nach dem atemberaubenden Besuch des Grand Canyon und einer kurzen Nacht in der im nördlichen Arizona gelegenen Stadt Flagstaff ging es dann heute morgens bereits um 6 Uhr los mit der Abfahrt Richtung Denver. Es stand eine sehr sehr lange Autofahrt mit ca. 12 Stunden am Programm, wobei man am Weg noch das Four States Corner Monument und den Mesa Verde Nationalpark besuchen wollte. Das ging sich auch alles ganz gut aus, da beide Sehenswürdigkeiten grundsätzlich in einer Stunde durch sind, gang im Gegensatz zum Grand Canyon oder Las Vegas. Nichtsdestrotz war dann die 12-stündige Autofahrt doch sehr mühsam und besonders die letzte Teilstrecke nach dem Nationalpark mit seinen 7 Stunden nach Denver hat sich dann doch noch ordentlich gezogen. Doch gut in Denver angekommen, geht es morgen dann wieder mit dem offiziellen Hockey Programm weiter.

The best Invasion ever continues! A trip to Las Vegas will not be forgotten. Never. Even if there are many people in the world who hates it. We had a fun that is hard to describe by words - and we have to admin it wasn't only about winning. We lost too. But back to Copperfield. We were supposed to have seats in the last and cheapest row, but suddenly a staff lady offered us almost free of charge upgrade to the third row of the podium. Who wouldn't accept it? Thanks this change, we could make a high five to David and see him many teams walking in our aisle. He still can do. David made disappeared a man or appeared big car od dinosaurs right in the small theatre. We almost get on the stage when we were so slice to catch the ball he randomly threw to the audience for choosing assistants.

It was a show worth of Las Vegas. We were little disappointed he asked for additional 170 dollars for meet and greet package. We only buy his signed photo. But if I stayed in the city longer, I would love to see his show once again.

Just a small note about Tuesday. We left Las Vegas and arrived in Hoover Dam in one hour. There is a bridge which connects Nevada from one side and Arizona in the other that means you can walk between two different time zones. Our drive continued o Grand Canyon via nothing but classic US desert and a little weird places. You wouldn't believe that if you weren't here before. You will be able to find photos of this trip on a way back to Colorado very soon at our websites.

Najlepšia Invasion pokračuje ďalej. Las Vegas zostane nezabudnuteľné, aj keď mnohí ľudia majú na neho opačný názor. Zažili sme tam neskutočne veľa zábavy, aj keď musíme rovno priznať, že niečo tiež prehrali. Vrátim sa ku Copperfieldovi. Prišli sme do sály, lístky sme mali do posledného radu. Najlacnejšie samozrejme. V tom prišiel člen štábu Davida a presadil nás do tretieho radu od pódia, lebo tam nikto neprišiel! Vďaka tomu sa počas kúziel David medzi nami prechádzal, aj si s nami tľapol. Behom paŕ sekúnd dokázal nehať zmiznúť človeka, či nechať objaviť veľkého dinosaura alebo auto. Taktieź nemal problém s uhádnutím toho, na čo diváci mysleli. Viackrát ich do svojho vystúpenia zapojil a nechýbalo málo, aby sme aj my chytili loptičku, ktorú házdal náhodne do publika a vyberal si tak svojich asistentov.

Bola to práva šou hodná Las Vegas. Bolo nám len trochu ľúto, že pýtal navyše 170 dolárov za stretnutie, čo sme si samozrejme nekúpili. Skončili sme iba pri jeho podpise na fotke. Kebyže však som vo Vegas dlhšie, tak sa na jeho šou určite vrátim, tak dokonalá bola.

Trochu aj načrtnem, čo sa dialo v utorok. Vyrazili sme z Las Vegas a do hodiny sme boli pri Hooverovej priehrade. Ocitli sme sa na moste, ktorý začínal v Nevade a končil v Arizone, pričom medzi oboma americkými štátmi je časový posun jedna hodina. Následne sme išli smer Grand Canyon. Prechádzali sme doslova pravou americkou púšťou a takými zabudnutými mestami, že by ste neverili, že je to pravda. Grand Canyon je zas samostatná kapitola. Pracujeme na spracovaní fotiek, ktoré podľa mňa tromfnú všetky zo všetkých Invasion. O nich, ale aj o našich bláznivých zážitkoch z cesty z Las Vegas vám napíšeme čoskoro.

Es waren zwei total beeindruckende Tage: Las Vegas ist schon eine besondere Stadt und so in seiner Art sicherlich einzigartig auf dieser Welt. Doch nach zwei Abenden und Tagen hieß es dann heute auch schon wieder raus aus der Stadt der Sünden und weiter ging die Autofahrt Richtng Südosten zum Hoover Damm, der wohl bekannteste und jedenfalls größte Staudamm der USA, der auch schon in zahlreichen Hollywood-Filmen für Terroranschläge herhalten hat müssen. Nach der Dammbesichtigung ging es dann weiter in den Bundesstaat Arizona, der im Norden vorwiegend durch den legendären Grand Canyon bekannt ist. Und dieser war auch dann unser Hauptziel an diesem Tag. Und auch wenn die Anfahrt etwas mühsam war, so hat sich die Fahrt doch in jeder Minute ausgezahlt. Der Blick oben am Grand Canyon ist unbezahlbar, so etwas gibt es kein zweites Mal auf dieser Welt. Und das ganze dann noch garniert mit dem legendären Sky Walk, wo man über eine Brücke über den Canyon ca. 1.200 Meter über dem Boden auf einem Glasboden herumspaziert. Der Blick: einfach unbezahlbar. Alles in allem ein toller und sehenswerter Ausflug, wonach es abends dann noch weiter Richtung Osten im Staat Arizona ging, damit die Fahrt am nächsten Tag nach Denver nicht zu lange ist.

Der zweite Tag in Las Vegas war erstmals ein erholsamer Tag bei der Invasion, da grundsätzlich jeder sein eigenes Tagesprogramm erstellen konnte. So waren dann letztendlich auch die Gruppen aufgeteilt, manche blieben länger im Zimmer, manche gingen in den Stadt auf Sightseeing-Tour. Ein paar Mitglieder zog es dann abends noch in eine Live-Show von David Copperfield, während die anderen nochmal ihr Glück in den diversen Casinos versuchten. Am nächsten Tag geht es dann jedenfalls wieder Richtung Colorado, wobei mal der Grand Canyon am Programm steht.

Oba zápasy pod holým nebom sme využili na to, aby sme stovkám fanúšikom dali naše propagaćné materiály. Rovnako budeme postupovať aj v Pepsi Center, kde nás ešte čakajú štyri zápasy. Aj vďaka letákom, ale tiež hlavne vďaka rozhovoru pre NBC Sports nás spoznáva čoraz viac ľudí. Spontánne nás oslovujú a rozprávajú sa s nami. Kto to nezažije priamo v Denveri, nepochopí ako veľmi sa projekt Eurolanche Invasion zmenil za deväť rokov svoho fungovania.

Atmosféra na zápasoch pod holým nebom bola fantastická rovnako ako šou s tým spojená. Dostatok suvenírov, krásne kúsky, ohňostroj... Dokonca sa mi podarilo na dve sekundy si odchytiť Joe Sakica, lenže v tom chaose som si nevedel zapnúť fotenie na mobile, takže nemám nič.

V nedeľu sme sa boli prejsť cez Las Vegas Strip. Je to šialené mesto, ktoré naozaj vzniklo asi len pre potrebu nedodržiavanie pravidiel. V USA si totiž asi každý potrpí na čo najviac pravidiel. Tu vo Vegas sa napríklad môže všade fajčiť a piť, hoci aj z fľašky s tvrdým alkoholom. Každý si robí čo chce, kasína fungujú non stop. V malých halách sú stovky automatov. Úplne iný svet, o ktorom vám určite prinesieme samostatnú reportáź.

Celkový dojem z prebiehajúcej Invasion je výborný. Sme tu iba štyri či päť dní, no mám pocit, akoby to bolo raz toľko prinajmenšom. Pritom sme ešte nemali ani tak nabitý program, keď to bolo hlavne o pobyte v Denveri. Pozerajúc sa na naše plány, čaká nás toho desaťkrát toľko. Po celý čas Inasion budeme aktualizovať priebežne aj túto časť spravodajstva, ktorá bude vždy odlišná ako klasický denník.

Nachdem Stadium Series Spiel direkt ins Auto Richtung Las Vegas, ist man schließlich nach insgesamt 13 Stunden in der Spierlstadt von Nevada angekommen. Die eigentliche Fahrtzeit beträgt 11 Stunden und weitere zwei Stunden wurden unterwegs mit Pausen fürs Essen und Tanken verbraucht. Um 11 Uhr hieß es dann aber gleich mal Zimmer beziehen (was erst ab 12 Uhr ging letztendlich) und dann hieß es ab in eine Shopping Mall für Shopping. Abends ging es dann - wie kann es anders sein - rein in die Stadt auf den Strip und es wurde in den Casinos der eine oder andere Dollar verspielt und das eine oder andere Bier gekippt. Wie zu erwarten, der erste Eishockey-freie Tage auf der Invasion.

Nach dem Alumni Spiel stand nun samstags endlich das eigentliche Stadium Series Spiel am Programm. Da das Spiel schon um 18:00 Uhr los ging und schon vier Stunden vorher auch die Party schon vor dem Stadion begann, konnte man also mit dem Vormittag also auch nicht wirklich viel anfangen als in der Innenstadt ein bisschen durchzubummeln und sich auf die Sehenswürdigkeiten der Innenstadt zu konzentrieren, da diese in der Nähe des Coors Field sind. Vor dem Bummeln hat man aber allerdings nochmal ordentlich Glück gehabt, da man unter anderem Peter Forsberg bei seinem Hotel getroffen hat und er sich dieses mal Zeit für Unterschriften und Fotos genommen hat. Mit dem Riesen-Glück ging es dann zum Mittag essen und dann weiter zum Coors Field, wo das Spiel um 18:00 Uhr los ging. Es war eine Wahnsinns-Show, mit Jets über dem Stadion und Feuerwerk. Auch das Spiel war sehr spannend, doch leider hat es für uns Avs-Fans das falsche Ende genommen. Nachdem es eine Minute vor Ende noch 3-3 gestanden hat, hat Detroit leider 60 Sekunden vor Schluss den Führungstreffer erzielt und somit die Niederlage der Avs im Heimstadion besiegelt. Mit dem schalen Beigeschmack ging es dann ins Auto und auf direktem Wege nach Las Vegas, wo man die nächsten Tagen verbringen wird.

We hope you didn't miss our live broadcasting from the Coors Field during the Alumni Game that we run thru the Periscope app. You could watch the unreal atmosphere of very special game. It has become one of the most memorable moments for every member of the trip. Hard to describe. Just incredible and unbelievable.

Our group traveled together almost everywhere. It is definitely harder to organize 12 fans than fewer like it was in the past years. A little chaos occurred when one of our members lost his ticket for the game. Hopefully we got a help from the local staff.

Denver weather is still a reason why we are having great days. Always sunny, you can have wear only t-shirt and won't freeze. Colorado is probably only state in the world where one day may be a summer and heavy snowing on the following day.

We are here for only three days, but it seems like one week. So many experiences we have and we even have not left Denver yet. It will come after Stadium Series Game when we are coming to Las Vegas. We will try to send you updates right at this special online coverage.

Mohli ste sa tak na vlastné oči presvedčiť o neskutočnej atmosfére počas Alumni Game. Z tohto duelu sa stal jeden z najväčších zážitkov pre každého člena Invasion VIII. Vidieť hráčov, o ktorých ste ani len nedúfali, že ich niekedy stretnete, bolo neopísateľné.

Cestujeme takmer všade spolu. Je to určite náročnejšie, keďže sme až 12, čo sa nedá s minuloročnými počtami ani porovnať. Menší chaos nastal s lístkami na Alumni Game, keď jeden z našej partie zistil, že lístok stratil. Našťastie si dokázal vybaviť náhradný, keď bolo aj pred pokladníkom preukázateľné, že nepodvádza.

Výhodou zápasu bolo samotné počasie. Takmer 20 stupňov celzia, s pribúdajúcim večerom sa ochladzovalo, ale stále stačila veľmi tenká mikina. Toto je proste Colorado, štát, v ktorom sa nedá predpovedať počasie a štát, v ktorom jeden deň môže byť leto a druhý deň snehová kalamita.

V Denveri sme síce ešte iba tri dni, no je to ako týždeň. Tak veľa zážitkov máme za sebou a to sme ešte nešli mimo Denveru. To nás čaká po sobotňajšom zápase Stadium Series, keď smerujeme do Las Vegas. Počas cesty sa vám budeme snažiť sprostredkovať aktuálne informácie práve v tomto rozšírenom spravodajstve.

Heute hat das Stadium Series Wochenende endlich begonnen. Nach einem schnellen Frühstück ging es in die Innenstadt von Denver, wo gebummelt wurde und den Mitgereisten, die das erste mal nach Denver mitgekommen sind, die Sehenswürdigkeiten der Innenstadt zu zeigen. Der Tag ist recht schnell vergangen und um 15:00 Uhr in ging es dann zum Coors Field, dem Stadion des lokalen Baseball Teams Colorado Rockies, wo auch die Stadium Series Spiele stattfinden. Wobei Spiele ja eigentlich falsch ist. Eigenmitlich wird nur ein reguläres Saisonspiel in der NHL dort gespielt. Einen Tag davor gibt es aber das sogenannte Alumni Spiel, wo von den beiden Teams die ehemaligen Stars in einem Freundschaftsspiel aufeinander treffen. Und genau dieses Alumni Spiel stand heute um 17:00 Uhr am Programm. Es war jedenfalls sehr beindruckend, wie viel Party schon um 15:00 Uhr dort vor dem Stadion gemacht wurde. Aber noch viel beeindruckender war dann das Stadion mit seiner Eisfläche selbst, einfach ein besonderes Erlebnis, wenn man sonst immer nur die Hallen kennt. Jedenfalls konnten sich die ehemaligen Größen der Avs im Spiel gegen die Wings mit 5-2 durchsetzen und den Spielern hat es allen sehr gut gefallen. Morgen steht dann das tatsächliche Stadium Series Spiel statt, auf das man schon sehr gespannt sein darf.

Alumni Game is scheduled for day. Weather in Denver is beautiful and it should last for whole day so we aren't freeze. Parking fee is 55 for one case but as we are 12 onboard, it isn't a problem. We will try to buy US sim cards to our phones so our coverage would not be limited by wifi availability. Be sure to follow us during the game and before too. We just hope to be able doing live broadcasts via Periscope. Also, cross your gingers as we will wait on Forsberg and co in front of the hotel prior the game.

O pár minút vyrazíme na Alumni Game, zápas veteránov. Parkovné je 55 dolárov na oba zápasy, ale keďže je nás 12, tak to nie je až taký problém. V Denveri je aktuálne stále slnečné počasie, ktoré by sa malo udržať po celý deň, tak určite nezmrzneme. Ešte predtým, ako pôjdeme na zápas, chceme si konečne zaobstarať americké sim karty, aby sme mohli byť s vami v spojení non stop a hocikde. Takže určite sledujte naše publikačné kanály počas Alumni Game, aj pred jej začiatkom. Snáď sa nám podaria nakrútiť aj živé videá. Skúsime sa stretnúť aj s Forsbergom a spol, tak držte palce.

Der zweite Tag der Invasion und zugleich der erste volle Tag in Denver an diesem Trip. Wie jedes Jahr ist man trotz der Müdigkeit und all der Reisestrapazen am ersten Morgen danach relativ früh wach, da der Körper die Zeitverschiebung nicht von heute auf morgen umstellt So ist die gesamte Gruppe eigentlich auch schon um 06:30 Uhr wach gewesen, da dies ja immerhin schon 14:30 Uhr europäischer Zeit ist. Nach einem gemeinsamen Früchstück ging es dann los Richtung Stadt um mal ordentlich Geld los zu werden. Als erstes stand der Supermarkt am Programm, um entsprechend im Hotel mit Essen und Trinken versorgt zu sein. Danach ging es dann in die Merchandise Stores des Pepsi Centers und des Sports Authority Fields, wo sehr viel Geld für Fanartikel aller Art ausgegeben wurden. Dazu stand dann noch ein weiterer Sportshop am Programm, woraufhin es dann zum Mittagessen ins Brooklyns ging. Danach hat das Invasion-Team beim Hotel der Spieler einige der Alumni-Spieler getroffen und somit auch gleich die ersten Signaturen und Fotos eingeheimst. Morgen soll es dann in der selben Tonart weitergehen, der erste Programmpunkt ist wieder das Hotel.

The schedule was changed for Day 1 in Denver as most of the trip's members wanted to do shopping of Avs souvenirs. It resulted in massive and uncontrolled spending the money. At the end there were more than 30 bags full of Avalanche merchandise. Mainly those members who are here for the first time were amazed how many different souvenirs are available at team's store in Pepsi Center. Then we walked to a hotel where Alumni players of both teams are situated. We will write about who we met in a diary at Invasion.Eurolanche.com soon.

Program sa nám zmenil už počas prvého dňa v Denveri, keď drvivá väčšina z našej skupiny chcela jediné - ísť nakupovať suveníry. Takto sme postupne skončili v asi štyroch rôznych obchodoch. Hlavne tých z nás, ktorí prišli do Colorada po prvýkrát, prekvapil široký výber suvenírov Avs, ktoré sa predávajú v oficiálnom obchode v Pepsi Center. Strávili sme tam asi dve hodiny a následne sa dopravili k hotelu, kde sú ubytovaní hráči z Alumni tímov Colorada a Detroitu. Stále pracujeme na tom, aby sme vám z Denveru mohli priniesť čo najčastejšie aktualizácie vrátane živých videí, ale stále sme limitovaní dosahom wifi. Od zajtra by sa to už malo zmeniť.

First day in Denver is over. It was quite hectic as we were delayed by an immigration, customs and baggages claim at the airport as well. Right now, we have been woken up since 7 am, probably a jet lag effect. Our schedule for today plans a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park, but we will probably make a little changes at the breakfast. We are going definitely to the souvenir shop in Pepsi Center.

Prvý deň v Denveri je za nami. Bol dosť hektický, keďže sme sa na letisku zdržali ako vždy s imigračnou kontrolou a batožinou. K tomu sa ešte pridalo vybavovanie našej novej dodávky, s ktorou budeme brázdiť cesty Colorada a iných štátov. Aktuálne sme sa zobudili o siedmej ráno po pár hodinovom spánku. Jet lag asi robí svoje. Na pláne je výlet do Rocky Mountain National Park, ale pravdepodobne sa ešte dohodneme aj na iných aktivitách - a hlavne na nákupoch v suvenírovom obchode.

Na tomto mieste vám postupne viacerí členovia výpravy budú prinášať ich pohľady na Invasion VIII a jej program.

Die Invasion VIII hat endlich begonnen und wie es bei jeder Invasion so üblich ist, ist der erste Tag auch meistens gleich der längste aufgrund der Anreise. Und so war es auch heute. Für viele Mitreisende hat der Tag schon um 3 Uhr früh begonnen, da man mit dem Auto oder mit dem Zug nach Wien anreisen musste, um rechtzeitig um 6 Uhr früh am Wiener Flughafen zu sein. Gemeinsam mit der Maschine ging es dann um 8 Uhr zunächst nach London und nach einer kurzen 2-stündigen Aufenthaltszeit in London ging dann um die Mittagszeit der lange Flug nach Denver, der von London aus insgesamt c. 9 Stunden dauert. In Denver angekommen, war es dann wieder mal so weit, auch die mühsamen Sicherheitskontrollen und Fingerabdrücken und dergleichen zu durchlaufen, was auch nochmal eine Stunde gekostet hat. Da wir aber um 08 Uhr abends bereits ein Spiel im Pepsi Center hatten, hieß es ordentlich auf die Tube drücken und schnell das Leihauto von der Vermietung besorgen. Mit dem Auto im Stau vom Flughafen zum Hotel hat es kurz danach ausgesehen, als ob wir es nur knapp rechtzeitig zum Spiel schaffen. Der Stau hat sich dann nach 15 Minuten aber wieder doch aufgelöst und wir haben es noch rechtzeitig für das Aufwärmen ins Pepsi Center geschafft. Mit dem Spiel gegen die San Jose Sharks hat dann auch der offizielle Eishockey-Teil der Invasion begonnen und der war gleich mal ordentlich spannend. Ein offener Schlagabtausch zwischen den beiden Teams hat dazu geführt, dass man bei 3-3 in die Verlängerung und dann auch ins Shootout ging, dass dann die Avs gewinnen konnten. Ein toller Einstand also für die Eurolanche Invasion VIII. So, und jetzt heißt das nach 27 Stunden auf den Beinen endlich ins Bett. Gute Nacht!

We have just landed in London. It was very quick flight, 2 and half hours. Our main flight to Denver is coming and it will take nearly 10 hours. When I compare this travel schedule to past trips, it is nothing as we used to spend 30+ hours on the trains, buses, airports and planes.
